THE ETHIOPIAN CHRISTIANS FELLOWSHIP CHURCH in Houston was established in 1984.

 

The first Sunday service took place with only eight members, of which six served in the choir. Now, that number has grown to over 500 active members and still continues to grow. In November of 1989, the Church was incorporated in the state of Texas and, subsequently, was granted the 501C status by the Internal Revenue Service.

 

After conducting years of unrelented services inside rented church premises, the church was able to acquire land in 1997 and build a facility located in southwest of the city in 2000.

 

The congregation continued to grow in number and soon begun to experience, once again, insufficiencies in the  available space. To that effect, the church started to layout plans to expand by building additional facilities that can accommodate class rooms for kids and a bigger sanctuary/ a bigger fellowship hall for the congregation.

 

However, the plan changed mid course when an existing church facility near by was listed for sale and the church jumped at the opportunity. In August of 2015, the church moved into the new facility.
